Phil Coulter is one of the most enduring figures in the music industry. From writing million selling pop hits in the 1960’s to performing with some of the world’s leading orchestras in the first decade of the 21st century, the range of his work is as impressive as his staying power.

During a career which spans almost four decades, Phil has shown an unerring ability to catch the public’s ear. Witnessed by his enviable collection of gold and platinum albums, his songs have been recorded by a litany of stars from Sinead O’Connor to Elvis Presley, and his production skills have been called on by iconic performers across the board from Van Morrison to James Galway to The Irish Tenors.

Coulter’s success as a recording artist and orchestra leader has been equally as consistent. In his native Ireland, he is the biggest selling instrumentalist of all time. Internationally, his recordings have enjoyed long periods in the Billboard Music Charts, with his newest,
Tranquility, riding high in Ireland and due for international release soon. He is a member of the distinguished band of Grammy nominees.

Phil has taken his Irish Pops Orchestra on several sold-out tours in the U.S., packing prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, The Chicago Theatre, and on a number of occasions, The White House. He has been a guest of several world-class orchestras including The American National Symphony and the Norwegian National Symphony at the Nobel Peace Awards.

St. Patrick’s Day 2007 found Phil doing a Gala Performance with the Ulster Symphony Orchestra in Belfast at the invitation of the BBC. Coulter is also the musical creator of the PBS spectacular Celtic Thunder.
